LANRE DA SILVA AJAYI

Men, except those not sexually attracted to women of course *lips sealed*, found this feature of the LFDW delightful as there were lots of sheer fabrics (mesh, lace, flimsy chiffon etc); hence nipples. butt cheeks and slim hot thighs  et al, were also on the display.

GTB Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2013: Xclamations!

img_3548
Xclamations blew me off at the day 1 of the LFDW2013. I sat there and I totally forgot that I was meant to put down notes for my blog on each designer. These designs inspired me and straight away I was able to come up with a few designs of my own.

Xclamations brought her A-game; couldn't have expected less anyway. She designed well tailored pieces that could easily become your wardrobe favourite, nothing ridiculous but still with desired cutting edge. She worked with all sorts of fabrics from silk to lace to cotton etc that has left me covetous since that day.lol

My love for Xclamations isn't just about the designs but also designer-Mrs Tomi Rotimi. She's such an affable, pretty, ever smiling woman and my God! She's so humble.

Eponymous Label Titi Belo presents its Spring/Summer 2013 Collection – Envy

For the daring, bold and adventurous contemporary African woman, Titi Belo presents  its Spring/Summer 2013 Collection – Envy.

According to the designer, the collection is made up of several pieces which reveal areas of the body that most women do not feel confident enough to flaunt thus making the wearer a subject of envy.
It radiates sensuality, energy, modernism and feminity. The collection experiments with textures, silhouettes and sculpted cuts; featuring sheath dresses, culottes, fitted high-lo dresses with “peak a boo” cutouts. Other key looks include the military-inspired and pearl embellished play-suit, the reverse evening jacket with stringed pearl detailing and the knotted high-low dress with a surprising twist.

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014: Maki Oh!

For her debut at the New York Fashion Week 2013, Nigerian designer Maki  of Maki Oh told a progressive story about the ‘woman’.
Her Spring/Summer 2014 collection was centered on the many roles a woman plays through out her life and adds an artistic edge to each piece to give a voice to each role. From the athlete to the cook, we see the models portray different roles as they pose in the couture.
The pieces range from apron inspired dresses, jersey shirts and dresses, sheer tops with puffed sleeves and little square hats (a personal favourite).
