Feet??? Ah! Are we really gonna talk about feet? I used to be the kind of girl who would always go for the head over heels (in short i was head over heels. lol!) ”Afterall, once I wear my shoes(especially a fine one), no one will probably notice my feet”, that was my excuse for neglecting my feet for so many years until a friend of mine and I got into a heated argument and then she abused me by blurting out to me ’DIRRTTTYY FEET’… It hurt me to my bone, and quickly, I changed my erroneous belief and started paying attention to my feet. A lot of people still don’t care about their feet, apart from cosmetic reasons, you should also take care of your feet to prevent you from contacting some feet infections such as Athlete’s foot and other fungal infections.

Some basic steps to get those beautiful you’ve always craved!
  1. Wash Your Feet daily.Yes! It’s as simple as it sounds, wash your feet at least twice daily, in the morning and at night. With all the running about from place to place that most people do everyday, the feet would have been exposed to a lot of dust and dirt by the end of the day. If you take showers in the morning and not at night, at least make feet-washing a part of your nightly routine when you get home. Scrub your feet thoroughly, paying extra attention to the spaces between the toes, use a pumice stone for the heels when necessary. Regular washing of the feet will reduce the possibility of contacting any feet infection, transfer of dirt to the bed and also ensures that your feet looks radiant and beautiful.
  2.  Give yourself a pedicure every two weeks.  Regular pedicures really make a difference in keeping your feet soft and free from dry and rough skin, and your toenails clean and neat. You should not snicker at the thought of doing this due to financial or time constraint as you don’t need to spend a lot of cash to have your pedicure professionally done in a salon. With a few tools, you can do your own pedicure right in the comforts of your own home at your spare time using some simple steps.
  3. Choose Good Nail Polish. Choose nail polish colours that you’re comfortable with and that which will cmplement your skin colour; don’t do a neon nail polish just your friend said so or paint a black nail polish {if you’re really on the dark side}, just because you want to play safe. If you are at a loss and you just wanna play safe, you can go with cool/deep colours like navy blue, cool red, maroon, brown, teal, midnight blue, fuchsia etc.
  4. Avoid Chapped Toe Nails. If after awhile your nail polish starts to peel, it’s either you bleach it out completely or your choose to touch it up {when in a hurry}, or re polish it entirely.
  5. Avoid Bleaching/Toning Cream that will give you dark knuckles. It’s not often a pretty sight when you decide to wear those expensive sandal of yours and your knuckles are obviously tones darker than the rest of your feet. Dark knuckles are often a negative externality of using toning creams-especially the cheap ones.
  6. Moisturize your feet everyday.  Put lotion or foot cream on as a part of your routine. One way to achieve soft, moisturized feet is to rub on some lotion or petroleum jelly before bed, and slip on some socks. When you wake up in the morning, you’ll find that your feet are very soft and are free from dryness! Just remember to never let the area between toes become over-moisturized, as this will cause fungus.
