FASHIONABLE, CHIC AND CORPORATE!!!

http://ethereality.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/howtoblackjkt.jpg
Every Sunday, the first question i ask myself wen i get back from church is 'what do i wear to work this week?'. It usually starts as a simple question and then it becomes a clutter. Damn! It all just has to be perfect. And thank God for my kinda job, i don't have to be dressed in dull Gray, uninspiring navy blue and the ever boring black, I don't have to wear suits daily... Well, for me, my workplace wardrobe is a drama spot... Mixing and matching bold bright colours no be beans. LOL
The truth is, I like my job cause it gives me the opportunity to express myself totally and dress how i feel, a lot of people have got jobs where there are restrictions on the kinda colours, pattern, style etc of outfits you can wear to work. The kind of work you have will definitely determine how you dress to work. But either you work at a fashion store like me, work as a secretary or u work in a bank etc, there are certain rules of thumb one must adhere to when deciding on your workplace outfit.

1. Obey the rules, whether you like them or not. Dressing against office dictates won’t impress the boss — or your colleagues.

2. Never show your midriff. Wear shirts of a proper length, and shun pants that ride too low.

3. Avoid revealing too much cleavage. Work is definitely not the place for it.

4. Keep your straps under wraps. Never let your bra show, and make sure your shirt is buttoned up properly.

5. And don’t wear anything see-through without proper underpinnings, ever.

6. Keep your hemlines in check. Even if you have super model legs (no one is interested in the workplace, save your lascivious male boss), super-short skirts should be saved for evenings out or weekends. A few inches above the knee is the shortest you should go.

7. Save your flip-flops for the beach. And your sneakers for the gym. Wear a pair of simple flats for your commute instead.

8. Use your best judgement. Save slinkier styles, like lacy camisoles and strapless dresses, for the evening.

9. Try not to go too tight. The office isn't the right place to hug every curve.

10. Don’t get too wacky. It’s fine to express your personal style, but keep it refined. Crazy hats, over-the-top makeup, and raucous patterns or colours will make you see too eccentric.
